Join to apply for the Founding Solutions Engineer role at Warden AI. AI is being deployed across every industry, transforming how decisions are made and how people interact with technology. But as adoption accelerates, so do concerns about bias, accuracy, and accountability. Warden AI safeguards this transformation by ensuring that AI systems are fair, transparent, accurate, and explainable.
Founded in 2023 and backed by investors from Playfair, Monzo, Onfido, and Codat, our platform continuously audits AI models, delivering independent oversight through dashboards, reports, and certifications. With teams in London and Austin, we partner with both fast‑growing platforms and global enterprises to enable the responsible adoption of AI worldwide.
About the role: As Warden’s Founding Solutions Engineer, you’ll be one of the first technical hires outside of the core dev team, playing a hybrid function across pre‑sales, onboarding, and delivery. You’ll work directly with customers to validate technical feasibility, implement integrations, and run audits, making sure every customer sees real value from Warden’s assurance platform. This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing role that blends technical depth with strong communication. You’ll partner closely with the founders and product team, while also shaping how Warden delivers audits at scale. If you thrive in early‑stage environments, enjoy working across both sales and delivery, and want to play a pivotal role in how AI is adopted safely, this role is for you.
As one of our earliest go‑to‑market hires, you will help shape how this role evolves and take on additional responsibilities across customer success and sales as we scale.
What you’ll do:
- Support sales conversations, e.g. join second‑stage calls to validate customer systems, explain Warden’s audit process, and scope integration requirements.
- Lead onboarding and integrations, e.g. validate technical requirements, guide customers through integration options, and manage the onboarding journey end‑to‑end.
- Deliver customer audits, e.g. coordinate audit runs, share and import files, manage comms with customers, and ensure results are published in the Warden platform.
- Partner with sales on smaller opportunities, e.g. take ownership of inbound discovery calls, independently run demos, and close transactional sales where appropriate.
- Improve customer‑facing touchpoints, e.g. use insights from audit work to refine our reports, dashboards, and other assets, ensuring customers get maximum clarity and value.
- Shape processes and tooling, e.g. help standardize audit delivery and integrations while working with data and engineering to improve automation and robustness.
What you should bring:
- Customer‑facing technical experience. You’ve worked as a Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, Implementation Engineer, or similar role at a SaaS or data‑driven company.
- Understanding of technical integrations. You understand how APIs, file‑based workflows, and various data formats fit together, and can guide customers through integration challenges without building implementations yourself.
- High agency and bias to action. You take ownership, navigate constraints independently, and keep work moving so customers see real progress and value.
- Excellent customer communication. You communicate technical topics clearly and accessibly, building trust in every interaction and guiding customers with confidence.
- Project management skills. You operate with discipline, manage details carefully, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks across multiple parallel work streams.
- Startup mindset. You thrive in fast‑paced, early‑stage environments, are excited to wear multiple hats, navigate ambiguity, and bring structure where needed.
- Cross‑functional collaboration. You enjoy working cross‑functionally and contributing ideas to product, engineering, and sales.
- Curious about AI, compliance, or HR Tech. Experience in any of these is a plus, but not required.
This Role Isn’t for You If…
- You prefer strict role boundaries. Early‑stage work is fluid and shifts as we grow.
- You’re uncomfortable with ambiguity. You’ll make calls without full information.
- You expect mature playbooks and tooling. A big part of the job is helping build them.
- You want to stay in a single lane. This role mixes technical, commercial, and customer work.
- You don’t want to grow into sales. The role may become more sales‑focused over time.
- You don’t enjoy operational customer work. You’ll guide onboarding, navigate integrations, and run audits hands‑on.
- You prefer working behind the scenes. This role requires being out front with customers, not in the background.
- You prefer highly predictable work. The role varies naturally based on customers.
What we offer:
- ÂŁ55-75k base salary + meaningful equity in a rapidly growing business
- 33 days holiday (incl. bank holidays)
- Hybrid working model (we spend 3 days/week in our London office)
- Learning and Development budget of ÂŁ500 per year
Our interview process involves the following stages:
- Initial screen (40min) – Intro with our CTO to align on your background and the role.
- Founder screen (30min) – Conversation with our CEO about how you operate in an early‑stage startup and a customer‑ and sales‑facing environment.
- Technical assessment (30min) – A short task to confirm technical proficiency.
- On‑site interview (60min) – Final interview including a collaboration exercise.
- Reference checks & Offer – We move quickly from references to a clear offer.
Our average process takes around 2‑3 weeks, but we will always work around your availability. If you have any specific questions or want to talk through reasonable adjustments ahead of or during the application, please contact us at any point.
