Job Description: Security Controller (Multi-Tenant Corporate)

Position: Security Controller

Rate: £15.49 per hour

Shift Pattern: 4-on, 4-off (Rotating Days & Nights)

Hours: 07:00 – 19:00 / 19:00 – 07:00

Location: London E14 4QZ

Role Purpose

As a Security Controller in a high-profile, multi-tenant corporate environment, you are the central hub for all safety and operational activities. You will be responsible for the continuous monitoring of the building’s security systems, acting as the primary point of contact for tenants, and coordinating the response to any incidents. This role requires a blend of technical surveillance expertise, administrative accuracy, and elite customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Control Room Operations
    • Surveillance: Conduct proactive CCTV monitoring across the building to ensure the safety of tenants, visitors, and assets.
    • Access Control: Manage the electronic access control systems and managing temporary badges for contractors or guests.
    • System Integrity: Perform regular equipment checks to ensure all cameras are operational, reporting faults to the management team.
  • Incident Response & Management
    • Emergency Coordination: Dealing with fire alarms, medical emergencies, or security breaches, coordinating with on-site supervisors, building management and emergency services.
    • Incident Reporting: Compile detailed, factual, and professional reports for all on site incidents.
    • Situational Awareness: Monitor local news or police alerts that may impact the building’s security posture.
  • Administration & Communication
    • Digital Liaison: Manage the security inbox, responding to tenant requests, access permit applications, and general inquiries.
    • Key Management: Maintain a strict key audit trail, ensuring all physical keys are signed in/out and accounted for at the end of every shift.
    • Data Entry & Auditing: Conduct regular control room audits for access control and CCTV systems.
  • Tenant & Visitor Relations
    • Service Excellence: Provide a professional and welcoming "front of house" feel via intercoms and radio communications.

Requirements (Essential)

  • Licensing: Must hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding license AND a valid SIA CCTV license.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a corporate control room or a multi-tenant environment.
  • Technical Abilities: Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook/Excel) and modern Access Control software (e.g. CCure).
  • Reliability: Commitment to a 4-on, 4-off roster, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Vetting: Ability to provide a full 5-year checkable work/education history for BS7858 vetting.
