WARD offers metal & waste recycling to homes and businesses throughout the UK – from skip hire and car recycling through to nationwide projects. We are looking for a Commercial Manager to join our team in Cardiff, Wales. You will be responsible for the purchasing of both ferrous and non-ferrous metal and establishing and maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers. You will assist with identifying and exploring opportunities for WARD within the area and managing various high value and diverse business accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Purchasing of both ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
  • Utilising your skill set to create and explore new opportunities to develop and increase WARD market share within the area.
  • Developing and presenting project proposals to the commercial heads.
  • Preparing tenders for client and commercial bids to help bring in new business.
  • Performing due diligence on potential customers and drawing conclusions after careful examination of the information gathered.
  • Dissemination of contract documents to appropriate parties externally and internally.
  • Manage relationships with customers/suppliers regarding the purchase of their materials - understanding the needs of your customers and being able to respond effectively.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Experience within the metal recycling industry.
  • Excellent communication skills/relationship building.
  • The ability to build good working relationships with senior staff.
  • Problem solving skills and analytical thinking.
  • Highly self-motivated individual.
  • A full UK driving license.
