Ward Williams is growing and doing things differently. Over the past 10 years, we’ve doubled in size and built a reputation we’re proud of. We are one of the first consultancies of our kind globally to achieve B Corp status and have been recognised with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development. We deliver projects that matter, helping to shape smarter, more sustainable environments, with a focus on creating a positive impact for our clients, communities, and the wider environment.
At Ward Williams, we work within a Partnership model built on custodianship. Our senior people take real responsibility for the direction of the business, not just the projects they deliver. It’s about contributing to something bigger, supporting those around you, and leaving a positive legacy for the next generation. We also believe that great work comes from different perspectives. You’ll be encouraged to bring new ideas, challenge thinking, and approach projects with curiosity and imagination, always looking for better ways to deliver for our clients.
Just as important is how it feels to work here. We create an environment where people can be themselves, speak openly, and build genuine relationships. It’s a culture built on trust, collaboration, and authenticity, where people are supported to lead in their own way. As an Associate Partner, you’ll have the freedom to take ownership, build lasting client relationships, and help shape both the projects you work on and the future direction of the business.
We’re looking for an established Quantity Surveyor operating at Associate level to join our growing Oxford team. This is an opportunity to bring your experience into a business where you’ll have real visibility, autonomy, and the chance to make a meaningful impact within a supportive and ambitious environment.
At Ward Williams, our values shape how we work every day:
- Impact – You want to be part of something that matters and care about creating positive change for clients, communities, and the environment.
- Imagination – You’re curious and open-minded, always looking for new ideas and better ways of doing things to benefit our projects and the people we work with.
- Authenticity – You’re honest, genuine, and collaborative, and you value a culture where people are true to themselves and their purpose.
We’re looking for someone with strong experience in a construction consultancy environment, who is confident managing projects, building client relationships, and taking ownership of delivery. You’ll be at a stage in your career where you’re ready to step up, broaden your experience, and continue developing your profile. You’ll be working on high-quality projects across a diverse mix of sectors, including commercial, residential, education, health, heritage, and both public and private sector schemes.
Our Oxford office is growing, and this is a unique opportunity to come in and help shape it. You’ll be the first Quantity Surveyor in the office, working alongside a strong team of Project Managers, with the opportunity to establish and grow the QS offering as part of a wider, well-established business. You’ll have the autonomy to lead delivery, develop client relationships, and influence how the QS function evolves in the region, while being supported by experienced colleagues across the wider Ward Williams network.
You’ll be a clear communicator, proactive in your approach, and someone who builds trust easily with clients and colleagues alike. MRICS is important, or you’ll be actively working towards it.
What you can expect from us:
- Flexible, hybrid working that gives you the balance you need, with time in the office to collaborate, connect and learn from each other.
- Competitive salary that genuinely reflects your experience and the value you bring.
- Tailored development to support your ambitions, with real investment in your progression.
- 38 days annual leave including public holidays, giving you the time to properly switch off.
- Your birthday off, because it should be celebrated properly.
- Enhanced family leave, offering additional support when you need it most.
- 6% employer pension contributions to help you plan for the future.
- Life cover at three times your salary, giving you and your loved ones peace of mind.
- Access to Aviva Digicare+, including virtual GP services and wellbeing support.
- A strong focus on wellbeing, with access to in-house support and resources.
- The chance to get involved in charity work and volunteering, with dedicated time to give back.
- Opportunities to engage with professional bodies and industry organisations, supporting your development and profile.
- A calendar of social events and activities, making it easy to build relationships and feel part of the team.
