We’re a growing consultancy that’s built its reputation on doing things a bit differently. Over the last 10 years, we’ve doubled in size, become one of the first consultancies globally to achieve B Corp status, and earned a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development – all things we’re really proud of. We place just as much value on how we work as what we’ve achieved. No overly corporate culture, no being boxed into one sector, and no being just another name in a large team. Instead, we focus on giving people the space to do good work, build strong relationships, and develop in a way that feels right.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background, particularly within infrastructure, strategic land, and large residential schemes. You’ll be confident running projects, managing stakeholders, and comfortable being a visible and reliable point of contact for clients. The Gloucester office has strong momentum, a solid client base, and a collaborative team environment. This role is about stepping in and playing a key part in both project delivery and supporting continued growth.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on complex projects, particularly within civils and infrastructure
  • Work closely with the Project Management Partner
  • Support and develop more junior team members
  • Contribute to client relationships and repeat business

What works well at Ward Williams

  • Impact – you take ownership and want to make a difference
  • Imagination – you’re open to new ideas and ways of working
  • Authenticity – you’re straightforward, collaborative, and easy to work with

What is it like to work in this office?

Our Gloucester office is busy, close‑knit, and genuinely collaborative. People are in the office, working together, sharing ideas and solving problems as a team. There’s a strong sense of momentum and a culture where people support each other and get stuck in. You’ll work closely with the Project Management Partner and wider team, with the opportunity to take on real responsibility and play a visible role in the office.

Your profile

  • To lead, develop, and deliver the Project Management service, supporting the office and contributing to the strategic growth of the Gloucester team.
  • Lead and manage the Project Management service
  • Provide technical consultancy across pre‑ and post‑contract stages

  • Deliver programmes and projects across infrastructure and development schemes, ensuring time, budget, quality, and compliance
  • Support office growth through business development and local market knowledge
  • Mentor and develop junior team members
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, resolving issues proactively
  • Manage project budgets, cost control, and value engineering
  • Use project scheduling tools (Asta Power Project / MS Project advantageous)

Candidate profile

  • Strong experience within civils and infrastructure delivery (essential)
  • Background in consultancy or client‑side project management
  • Experience across strategic land, utilities, or large‑scale residential developments

  • Professional qualification (MCIOB, MRICS, APM or equivalent)
  • Proactive, reliable, and confident operating at a senior level
