About the Role
As an Electronic Security Systems Engineer, you'll play a key role in installing, maintaining, and supporting a wide range of electronic security solutions. You'll be the face of Ward Security on site, working closely with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders to deliver service excellence while ensuring compliance with industry standards. This is a hands-on, varied role offering genuine opportunities to develop new skills, including locksmith works and advanced security technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Installing, configuring, and commissioning: CCTV systems, Intruder and Fire Alarms, Access Control systems, Automatic gates, barriers, and doors
- Carrying out preventative maintenance visits
- Diagnosing faults and responding to breakdowns efficiently
- Providing on-site and remote technical support
- Completing electronic job reports, installation records, and documentation
- Ensuring all work meets British Standards and regulatory requirements
- Delivering exceptional customer service at every touchpoint
- Identifying opportunities to enhance and grow client accounts
- Working collaboratively with the Operations Manager and wider team
Health, Safety & Compliance
You'll be expected to uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental responsibility, following company policies and the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. A safe, tidy, and compliant working environment is essential.
Where You'll Work
You'll operate across a variety of settings including: Commercial offices, Retail and public spaces, Residential properties. Travel across the UK is required. Overtime is paid, including travel time, and you'll take part in a weekly on-call rota.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience installing and maintaining CCTV, Access Control, Intruder and Fire Alarm systems
- Hands-on knowledge of systems such as Hikvision, Paxton, Texecom, Orisec, Pyronix, and Honeywell
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Good spoken and written English
- Strong time management and administration skills
- Flexible approach to working hours
- Experience with automatic gates, barriers, or doors
- Knowledge of networked security systems
- Understanding of British Standards, Quality Management, and Health & Safety
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- High standard of personal presentation
