As a Contract Support Officer you will be responsible for access control to the building, meeting and greeting visitors, contractors and staff. You will be vigilant and the first point of call for any suspicious activity. Your duties will include carrying out ID checks, responding to emergencies, and providing information to all staff and visitors.
The successful candidate will need to have customer service experience and excellent personal presentation, as these sites can be very busy dealing with members of the public, outside working, patrolling and Front of House duties as required. Full flexibility is a must for this role.
- Pay Rate: £12.70 per hour
- Shift Pattern: Days, Nights and Weekends (full flexibility required)
- Location: Sites based in Birmingham
Role Requirements:
- Door Supervisor SIA licence
- UK Driving licence and use of own vehicle (essential)
Main Duties:
- To provide the security measures necessary for the safeguarding of the property and people within the premises
- Cover reception duties if/when required (Front of House experience is desired)
- To protect the premises from possible unauthorised entry
- To ensure effective security of the assigned patrol locations against damage by fire, water, theft or vandalism
- To detect those responsible for losses or malicious damage to the client’s property
- To ensure that all persons wishing to enter the premises are fully identified
- To provide a robust and efficient emergency response system
- To offer advice/assistance to staff and visitors
- Patrol the site and buildings to prevent fire, flood, theft and damage
- Search premises and people as instructed
- Provide first aid response
- Checking and validating all staff, visitors and contractors passes
- Operating, monitoring and responding to installed security and safety systems
- Maintaining a log of occurrences
- Production of incident reports
- Locking and unlocking of offices as necessary
- Comply with and operate site security instructions and policies
Must Haves:
- Valid SIA licence
- Valid CCTV licence (desired, not essential)
- UK Drivers licence
- Proven work experience as a Security Officer (minimum 1 year)
- Experience in Front of House/Reception duties
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- High level of self-presentation
- IT literate
- Quick thinking and problem-solving skills
- A positive attitude to dealing with people and taking on challenges
