We are looking for a professional and dependable Front of House Security Officer to join our team in London.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our clients, visitors, and staff while delivering a welcoming and professional front‑of‑house experience.

Role Overview

We are looking for a professional and customer‑focused Front of House Officer to join our team at a prestigious flagship building in the City of London.

You will deliver an exceptional experience for staff, tenants, and visitors while maintaining a safe and secure environment.

Working closely with security, facilities, cleaning, and catering teams, you will play a key role in providing outstanding customer service and supporting daily building operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure you are correctly dressed in the appropriate uniform, in possession of relevant ID / SIA badges, and have a signed‑out and tested radio.
  • Attend the morning briefing/handover at the commencement and end of each shift.
  • Control access and egress to the building by staff, contractors, and the general public, providing assistance where needed and alerting the FCC of any potential or actual incidents.
  • Plan for and provide escorts for VIP visitors, liaising with the Shift Supervisor and Security Managers.
  • Ensure the main turnstile barriers are manned at all times.
  • Be aware of protest and demonstration procedures and respond as required.
  • Actively assist staff, guests and contractors by passing them information, giving direction, or responding to queries to a professional standard.
  • Record all daily events via the DOB (Daily Occurrence Book/My Tag) at the Shift Supervisor’s request.
  • Be fully conversant with the assignment instructions, post instructions and any locally issued procedural updates.
  • Complete all forms of incident reporting as required to the agreed levels of content and clarity.
  • Ensure correct time management of all duty tasks before the end of the allocated time period for each post/patrol.
  • Undertake special projects and duties as required by the Manager(s), Shift Supervisor(s), Administrator and Controllers.
  • Respect client confidentiality in relation to any client media (written, visual, electronic, or oral).
  • Respond to any security or health and safety policy violations and notify line management promptly.
  • Report any action or inaction that compromises safety to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe place of work, ensuring all posts are clean and tidy at all times.
  • Report missing, damaged or unserviceable equipment to Operations Managers.
  • Cooperate with Ward Security and the client to fulfill statutory duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and other relevant provisions.
  • Display your SIA licence at all times while on duty.
  • Submit reports on incidents as instructed by the Site Management Team, Shift Supervisor or Controller.
  • Stay updated on policy and procedures changes by Ward Security and the client.
  • Participate positively in staff welfare or development programmes.
  • Carry out any reasonable request from the Client/Site Management Team/Security Administrator or Shift Supervisor.
  • Comply with and demonstrate commitment to equal opportunities, occupational safety & health, performance development, customer service, professional presentation, and confidentiality throughout duties.
  • Be prepared to perform duties beyond those listed in this description.
  • Stand for extended periods of time (around 10 hrs a day) is required.

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Professional, reliable, and well‑presented.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and work independently.
  • SIA Door Supervisor licence (or willingness to obtain one).
  • First Aid qualification (or willingness to complete training).
  • Previous experience in a customer‑facing, corporate, hospitality, or security role is desirable.
