We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Security Manager to join our team based at our client’s vibrant, modern state‑of‑the‑art building. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Head of Security in ensuring the safety and security of our employees, customers, and assets.

The ideal candidate will have a friendly and easy‑going personality while also being very perceptive and disciplined. You should be able to deal with complaints and give accurate information. A customer‑oriented previous experience is essential. Sounds like you? Apply now!

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 60 Hours Per Week

Location: EC4A 4BL

Role Requirements:

  • Valid SIA DS licence and CCTV Licence
  • Proven managerial experience or in a similar role

Main Duties:

  • Supervise daily security team operations, conduct team checks around the building and ensure that these checks are recorded
  • Report any issues to the Head of Security
  • Liaise with client and tenants on any relevant and up to date security related matters. Provide advice and suggestions
  • Ensure the high standards of the staff appearance and performance, that all staff work in safe conditions, act upon all reports of accidents and faults and that staff carry out their duties in accordance with procedures
  • Comply and ensure all members of staff complies with Ward Policies and procedures and Assignment Instructions
  • Work in partnership with service partners and customers’ representatives, ensuring all aspects of the site requirements are effectively managed
  • Ensure professional conduct of your shift and ensure staffing requirements are maintained with regular site trained individuals, to include provision for holidays, sickness and records fully maintained
  • Manage and be conversant with the Key and Patrol Management, Access, CCTV, Fire and Security systems installed, ensuring that all staff are fully conversant in the roles and carrying out their required duties
  • Ensure that all equipment is managed, used, monitored and reported defective in accordance with site procedures and securely maintain a minimal stock of key items to ensure contingency items are available
  • Fully control and respond to all emergency situations, ensuring that the necessary investigations and reports are completed and submitted in the timely manner as per the Assignment Instructions
  • Ensure Health and Safety of staff and visitors as per safety file. Responding to all emergencies in accordance with procedure and to play an integral part in the safe evacuation of visitors, staff, and contractors minimising risk

Required skills & Experience:

  • Five years’ experience in a position of leading a team of 10 or more officers either as a Supervisor or Manager
  • Proven 3-year history of working in a Security control room
  • Competent IT Skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure
  • Have an ability to deliver clear verbal and written reports where necessary
  • Maintain a high standard of personal presentation
  • Demonstrate reliability including the ability to deliver high standards of both punctuality and attendance in order to ensure team effectiveness and availability
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team
  • Able to deal calmly and confidently with all demands from the public
  • An understanding of the principles of equality and diversity in relation to visitors’ needs
  • An interest in and commitment to the work of Ward for its clients
  • Experience of incident identification, obtaining evidence, resolution and recommendation
  • Good interpersonal skills, to liaise with security officers, client, contractors and members of the public at all levels

  • SIA, Door Supervisor and CCTV Licences
  • First Aid at Work Certificate
  • IOSH Certificate
