Role Security Team Leader based in Birmingham, B3 3AX.
Pay rate £15.50 per hour. Shift pattern 4 on 4 off days and nights (average 42 hours per week).

Main duties:
- Directly manage the supervision of personnel, ensuring the Company's obligations are adhered to at all times in a timely and professional manner.
- Gatehouse, access control and patrol duties.
- Ensure all personnel on site under your remit are rostered appropriately to meet contractual obligations.
- Be the first port of call for all security issues and staff issues on site, and escalate as necessary.
- Ensure that all relevant information is collated and recorded for future reference.
- Liaise with all Security Officers ensuring that all information is made available for the operation of the Company to work effectively.
- Provide documentation and reports in support of day-to-day operational activities.
- Respond and take action in the event of evacuations and emergencies ensuring that your team takes appropriate action.
- Ensure that staff and clients assist the Health & Safety Officer to comply with policies and regulations.
- Participate in and ensure the continuation of specialist training to key members of staff within your authority.
- Ensure that all members of your team work appropriately and effectively, providing further training where required.
- Ensure that all duties are carried out by you and your team according to the site-specific assignment instructions and the Client's and Company's wishes.
- Provide regular foot patrols within defined areas as an effective deterrent to protect the client’s property and assets.
- Control access to the client’s premises, examine documentation to ascertain authenticity and authority to gain access, including patrols.
- Monitor CCTV and alarm functions, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and respond as required.
- Submit detailed reports on the discovery of health-and-safety and crime issues to the relevant authority, verbally or in report form as required.
- Carry out routine search procedures in a sensitive manner, including vehicles, buildings, and persons.
- Deal with all incidents falling within the security remit and report all incidents to the relevant authority.
- Serve as a point of contact and information central to staff and visitors.
- Sort/collect mail and ensure goods in/out are handled according to site-specific Assignment Instructions.
- Maintain a log of all visitors, incidents, and other records required by the client.
- Maintain the client's key safe and record all movements of keys on the premises.
- Identify suspicious persons and actions and report such circumstances appropriately.
Must haves:
- Valid SIA licence and CCTV licence required.
- Proven work experience as a Team Leader.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in tasks.
- Ability to effectively manage building staff with industry experience.
- High level of self-presentation.
- IT literacy – ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment.
- Quick thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Positive attitude to dealing with people and taking on challenges.
- Experience with escalation procedures relating to staff, incidents, and operations.
- Sound working knowledge of security best practices and legislation affecting security.
- Security professional with extensive knowledge of the security industry, public sector or armed forces.
- Strong management and leadership skills, ability to influence, negotiate, and engage.
- Sound judgement and decision-making skills with a hands-on problem-solving approach, able to remain calm under pressure and take control of incidents.
- Experience in writing procedures, drafting reports, and preparing business cases.
