We are looking for an Outdoor Investigator who will support Personal Injury lawyers by gathering evidence, taking statements and actively reporting findings.

Main purpose of the role: To relay cases, support PI lawyers by taking Witness Statements to support personal injury and other claims, and to relay important information obtained from clients and their witnesses to the lawyer overseeing the case, providing advice on any evidence obtained.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Interviewing clients and witnesses as requested by the fee earners.
  • Attending joint site inspections.
  • Creating locus reports – photographs and sketch plans.
  • Making enquiries to trace/locate potential witnesses.
  • Delivering urgent and important work, e.g. briefs to Counsel.
  • Serving Witness Summons.
  • Process serving.
  • Attending hospitals and other establishments to refill advertising leaflet containers.
  • Retrieving archive from the archive store in the absence of an Archivist.
  • Other duties required within the spirit and scope of the post.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of professional witness statement taking.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with diverse audiences.
  • Effective organisation and time management skills.
  • A strong team player.
