Weighbridge Operator

Location: Ward – Newbridge Lane, Old Whittington, Chesterfield

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (overtime available)

We’re looking for a reliable, customer-focused Weighbridge Operator to be the first point of contact at our Chesterfield site. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of our weighbridge facility.

About the Role

As a Weighbridge Operator, you’ll be responsible for weighing all inbound and outbound vehicles, updating stock records, and directing customer activity on site. You’ll also serve as the key contact for safety and security communications, supporting both internal teams and external customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and direct all vehicles entering and leaving the site
• Weigh vehicles accurately and process related documentation
• Maintain clear, accurate, and up-to-date records of vehicle movements and materials
• Assess and log types and grades of incoming materials (including metals, waste and hazardous waste)
• Ensure all weighbridge operations are carried out in line with Health & Safety procedures
• Update site stock sheets and assist with inventory tracking
• Follow written and verbal instructions precisely
• Liaise professionally with customers, drivers, and internal staff

• Strong IT skills and confidence working with digital systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• A trustworthy, motivated, and dependable team player
• Previous experience in the metal or waste recycling industry is beneficial but not essential
• Flexibility to work overtime when required
