Are you a qualified Solicitor working in litigation looking for your next challenge in a dynamic and fast paced environment? If so please read on as we might have the ideal role for you. Due to continued growth, we're looking for a Solicitor with 1 to 6 years post qualifying experience to join our established Social Housing Litigation team in either Newcastle, Leeds, or Manchester.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our highly successful team, supporting the Partners and Senior Associates across a broad range of social housing matters. This will include advising on and managing litigation relating to tenancy breaches and anti-social behaviour, handling possession and injunction applications, defending housing disrepair claims brought by tenants, and providing advice on tenancy clauses, succession, mutual exchange, and assignment issues. You'll work with some of our key clients, comprising both Housing Associations and Local Authorities.
What will I be doing?
- You’ll contribute to the department's wider business development objectives and initiatives to strengthen and expand client relationships.
- Supervise and assist junior members of the litigation team where appropriate and as required in relation to other litigation queries.
- Attending, and representing clients at, Court hearings.
You’ll have:
- Previous experience in social housing litigation.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance cost and benefit.
- The ability to work to challenging timescales, to plan and organise effectively whilst maintaining exceptional client service through strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Excellent all-round management and communication skills, as well as sound professional judgment.
- A pro-active, enthusiastic, and committed approach to clients with the ability to establish rapport and effective working relationships.
- Good prioritisation skills and be able to work with urgency to move matters forward.
- An efficient and methodical approach.
- Flexibility to adapt working styles and use different approaches where required.
- The ability to work independently using your own initiative as well as working as part of a team.
