Are you a qualified Solicitor working in residential housebuilder development, looking for your next challenge in a dynamic and supportive environment? If so, please read on as we might have the ideal role for you. We’re looking for a Solicitor with 1 to 5 years post qualifying experience to join the established residential development team in our Leeds office, to work closely with the Partners to develop and expand our offering to developers.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our successful team, working alongside a team of outstanding lawyers, advising residential developers on land acquisitions, site assembly, disposals and related issues as well as working with our colleagues handling planning, construction, development funding and estate management. You’ll work with some of the firm’s key clients, comprising household names and also be involved in some of the region’s high‑profile and significant residential‑led developments.

You’ll be adept at working to challenging timescales with the ability to plan and organise effectively whilst maintaining exceptional client service through strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

What will I be doing?

  • Within the team on site acquisitions, site assembly and disposals for regional and national residential developers, including undertaking the full due diligence and reporting that entails.
  • Drafting and negotiating Reports and Contracts, Options, Building Leases, Promotion Agreements, Transfers and Overage Agreements.
  • Contributing to the department’s wider business development objectives and initiatives to strengthen and expand client relationships.

You’ll have:

  • Analytical experience and be able to demonstrate commercial awareness with the ability to balance cost and benefit.
  • Experience working to challenging timescales with the ability to plan and organise effectively, whilst maintaining a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent all‑round communication skills and sound judgement.
  • Ability to work within and as part of multi‑discipline teams.
  • An aptitude and enthusiasm for business development.
