This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in a day at 23:59 BST.

We're looking for a Paralegal to join our busy Affordable Housing team in Leeds. Your role will be to provide responsive and efficient paralegal support, assisting experienced Solicitors and fee earners working on litigation cases in our delivery of legal services to social housing clients. This is a great opportunity for someone who is highly organised with strong attention to detail, and transferable skills demonstrating an ability to handle volume litigation in a fast-paced environment.

What will I be doing:

  • Assisting the in-house costs draftsman, Solicitors, Associates and Partners in defending costs only proceedings on behalf of social housing providers.
  • Using precedents and own initiative to draft correspondence and standard documents.
  • On-going file management/administration including updating the case management system.
  • Drafting statements of costs for the team.
  • Assisting in costs negotiations with opponent solicitors.
  • Assisting fee earners with any other pertinent matters to the social housing team.

You’ll have:

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a cross-office team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other IT packages.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work to meet conflicting deadlines as well as flexibility and proactivity in supporting others within the team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to conduct legal research.
