Are you a qualified Solicitor working in Construction looking for your next challenge in a dynamic and fast paced environment?
We're looking for a Solicitor with 0 to 4 years post qualifying experience to join our Construction team based in our Birmingham office.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly successful team, supporting the Partners and fee earners across a broad range of both contentious and non contentious matters.
- What will I be doing
- Advise clients on a range of construction and engineering issues, dealing with a range of employers, contractors, sub-contractors, construction professionals, financial institutions and other parties;
- Advise clients and conduct a wide range of advisory and contentious matters including negotiations, dispute avoidance, adjudications, court and arbitration proceedings, mediations and other forms of ADR;
- Advise clients in connection with commercial and industrial development, infrastructure, housebuilding, healthcare, education, retail, leisure, public sector and other sectors and projects;
- Advise, report on, draft and negotiate a wide range of construction and engineering contracts, professional appointments, warranties, bonds, guarantees and other project documentation;
- Negotiate/liaise with clients and other professionals to secure agreed objectives;
- Attend meetings and negotiations with clients and third parties;
- Research new areas of law and case law to ensure the accuracy of advice and procedure;
- Develop existing and new client business via appropriate channels including active network building, marketing, entertaining clients etc.;
- Supervise and delegate work to Trainee Solicitors and Paralegals as appropriate to seniority;
- Undertake and contribute to a range of continuing professional development (CPD) activities.
- You’ll have
- Previous experience in a Construction role advising on a broad range of matters
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a clear and logical approach.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritise.
- The ability to work independently using your own initiative as well as working as part of a team.
- A good level of IT proficiency and effective file management skills.
- A proactive approach and a high level of attention to detail.
