A brilliant opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor to join our Employment team. We are predominantly looking for someone to work from our Leeds office but would also consider applicants from Manchester and Birmingham. The role is fast paced and varied, providing employment and immigration law services to regional, national and international clients. The ideal candidate will have 2 - 5 years post qualifying experience.
Responsibilities
- Providing employment law advisory support to clients in person, by telephone, via Teams and in writing.
- Supporting senior members of the team with their workload.
- Managing a Tribunal caseload and, where appropriate, undertaking full advocacy at hearings, PHRs and CMDs.
- Research, drafting and providing solutions to issues/problems that our clients want our help with.
- Attending meetings and negotiations with clients and third parties.
- Assisting in developing existing and new client business via appropriate channels including active network building and the delivery of training.
- Where appropriate, supervising and delegating work to trainee solicitors, paralegals and legal secretaries as appropriate.
- Keeping up to date with changes and developments in the law by reading journals and law reports.
- Delivering training sessions to clients.
Qualifications
- 2 - 5 years post qualified experience in Employment Law case work.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills.
- The ability to work to challenging timescales and with demanding clients and colleagues.
- Excellent all round communications skills.
- Sound judgement.
- The ability to plan and organise effectively.
- Accuracy and great attention to detail.
- Effective diary/administration management (including time recording).
- Flexibility, with the ability to adapt style and use different approaches.
- Good prioritisation skills and able to work with urgency to move matters forward.
- Ability to work within and as part of multi-discipline teams.
- Good presentation skills.
