Swimming Instructor in Buntingford

Swimming Instructor in Buntingford

Buntingford Full-Time On-site
Ward Freman Community Pool

Company Description

The Ward Freman swimming pool has been a central part of community life in Buntingford and nearby villages in East Hertfordshire since the 1970s, helping generations of children and adults learn to swim. Following its closure on health and safety grounds in December 2023, local residents formed the Ward Freman Community Pool Group CIO, a registered charity, to save and restore the facility. After successful fundraising and negotiations, the charity became the owner of the pool in May 2026. Refurbishment of the pool, plant room, and public areas began immediately, with the goal of reopening as a community-owned and community-run asset. The target is to reopen in Autumn 2026, offering revitalized aquatic programs and facilities for all ages.
