Our Aberdeen depot is looking for an Interim Site Depot Lead, someone who’s not afraid to roll up their sleeves, keep the wheels turning, and bring our family spirit to life every single day. As the face of the depot, you’ll keep things running smoothly: supporting our teams, championing safety, and making sure our products reach our customers fresh, on time, and with pride. You’ll be the calm in the early‑morning chaos, the steady pair of hands everyone trusts, and the friendly voice that pulls people together.
Key Accountabilities and Measures
- Leadership of the depot to ensure that the site leads the HSE agenda to ensure safety is always first.
- To provide leadership and direction to the distribution team at the depot, demonstrate strong people management and leadership capability utilising and role modelling the full range of people management tools.
- Employees & vehicles are compliant to the Transport Operator’s regulations and Warburtons policies.
- Deliver excellent customer service.
- Influence the divisional strategy through involvement in national projects and CI activity.
- Lead the site strategy and drive continuous improvement, identifying and managing the execution of continuous improvement projects.
Essential Ingredients
- Strong HSE knowledge and associated legislation.
- People leadership. Ability to influence and persuade, using a range of styles to suit the situation and enabling leadership across teams. Good utilisation of coaching techniques within leadership style.
- Excellent communication skills, articulate and able to develop effective, long‑term relationships with key people. Establishes credibility with internal and external contacts at all levels.
- Commercial skills – uses an understanding of the cost base in own area to improve profitability/develops and monitors/manages the site’s budget.
- Change Management and Project management skills. Experience of implementing and gaining engagement to change plans.
- Previous success in driving Continuous Improvement to existing processes.
- Works using own initiative, is a self starter.
- A good working knowledge of ERP Systems.
- Analytical in approach with good problem‑solving skills, ability to interpret and trend data to make data led decisions.
- Certificate of Professional Competence of National Road Haulage.
