The Recipe
As a Multi-Skilled Manufacturing Engineer at Warburtons, you’ll work in collaborative shift teams alongside production, safety, and hygiene departments. You’ll perform planned and preventative maintenance, using your engineering expertise to develop robust, long-term solutions.
The Role
You’ll be part of a highly skilled engineering team, driven and skilled in finding and rectifying faults through inputs and outputs, reading and acting on data, conducting planned and preventative maintenance and working on a variety of equipment from bulk handling systems, through to processing and packaging, site services and PLC control systems.
- Ensure all engineering activities undertaken are compliant to internal & external standards including Health & Safety legislation, identifying any required actions so that the area of responsibility is healthy, safe and accident free.
- Responsible for executing fault finding and maintenance through RCM and CBM activities.
- Driving improvements in asset reliability and reduction in losses.
- Adheres to site specific machinery procedures to ensure safe and efficient asset maintenance, contributing to the continuous improvement of operational performance.
- Drive a proactive Engineering Continuous Improvement culture - Contributing to the improvement and development of maintenance activities & standard operating procedures.
- Compliance with quality and food safety legislation, company standards and specifications in order to meet the requirements of professional and legal standards.
Experience Required
- Experience of Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Knowledge and experience of maintenance in preferably a FMCG/manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with H&S and Food Safety systems and legislation (e.g., PUWER, IOSH).
- Ability to work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.
- Understanding of PLC and control systems (desirable but not essential).
- Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC, BTEC, or equivalent).
