What You’ll Be Doing?

As Distribution Shift Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring smooth, efficient processes while upholding our reputation for exceptional service. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a team of Secondary/Class 2 Drivers, taking responsibility for all people management activities throughout the employee lifecycle to drive improved performance and build a positive and motivated team where everyone is engaged.
  • Continuous Improvement: Use telematics and performance data to monitor safety trends and drive improvements across the fleet.
  • Championing a Safety Culture: Positively influence behaviours and embed safety into daily operations, making it a core team value.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to Transport Operator Licence requirements, Tachograph and Working Time Directive regulations, and all Health, Safety & Environment legislation.
  • Risk Management: Conduct regular safety audits, vehicle checks, and driver briefings to identify hazards and implement preventative measures.
  • Training & Development: Deliver ongoing coaching and refresher training for drivers on safe driving practices, load security, and emergency procedures.
  • Incident Response: Lead investigations into any accidents or near misses, ensuring corrective actions are taken and lessons learned are shared.

Working on a 5 over 7 rota, around 42 hours per week, starting between 0400 and 0900. Previous experience as a Team Manager or Key Operative with experience in managing teams, coaching, and mentoring is required. Knowledge of Tachograph and WTD regulations, good working knowledge of SAP, specifically the ERP module, understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment, and experience with Driver telematics systems are essential. If you have your Transport Manager CPC that would be beneficial (but not essential).

Eurocentral is situated 3 miles from our Bellshill Bakery on the M8 corridor mid-way between Glasgow and Edinburgh. We deliver from Coatbridge in the central belt, to as far north as the Tay Bridge, as far south as Hawick and the full of the east coast including Edinburgh city centre. We have several different shift patterns for Drivers and Warehouse Team Members, something to suit everyone and work closely with our Bakeries to ensure our 770 customers have their freshly baked products daily, delivering over 28 million products per year! And we’re still growing…
