As a Multi-Skilled Manufacturing Engineer at Warburtons, you’ll work in collaborative shift teams alongside production, safety, and hygiene departments. You’ll perform planned and preventative maintenance, using your engineering expertise to develop robust, long-term solutions.

The Role

You’ll be part of a highly skilled engineering team; you’ll be driven and skilled in finding and rectifying faults through inputs and outputs, reading and acting on data, conducting planned and preventative maintenance and working on a variety of equipment from bulk handling systems, through to processing and packaging, site services and PLC control systems.

  • Ensure plant and personnel (including external contractors) conform to Health and Safety legislation, policy and standards identifying any required actions so that the area of responsibility is healthy, safe and accident-free.
  • Drive improvements in asset reliability and reduce losses.
  • Effective use of SAP PM.
  • Development of maintenance approach for bakery equipment in line with BEX framework.
  • Completion of identified individual objectives and team targets.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels.
  • Compliance with quality and food safety legislation, company standards and specifications in order to meet the requirements of professional and legal standards.

Requirements

  • Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Knowledge and experience of maintenance in preferably a FMCG/manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with H&S and Food Safety systems and legislation (e.g., PUWER, IOSH).
  • Ability to work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.
  • Understanding of PLC and control systems (desirable but not essential).
  • Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC, BTEC, or equivalent).
