The Recipe
- To lead the Technical Analysts team in the delivery, installation, implementation, development, and continuous improvement, ensuring correct BAU operation of network, infrastructure and technical operations.
- Through a position of technical expertise, lead and directly support the team in defining and implementing technical elements of projects and enhancements.
- Ensure Support and Operational activities are defined for BAU requirements.
Key Accountabilities and Measures
- To ensure that IT systems are available, properly safeguarded; and continuously reviewed and improved according to changing requirements of internal and external customers.
- Ensure the overall control and management of services and their availability to ensure that all services meet all of their agreed availability targets.
- To be responsible, in conjunction with the IT Management Team, for proposing, designing & planning of the future Warburtons IT Infrastructure, including its implementation, to ensure it supports future business requirements in terms of capacity and capability.
- The systematic management of information relating to the documentation, software, hardware and firmware assets of an organisation.
- Specialist technical expertise in the installation and maintenance of system software in your key areas.
- To contribute to the design, implementation and management of the information security management system and architecture to effectively secure the Warburtons infrastructure.
- To be responsible for delivering security improvements to IT Systems and Networks.
- Determine technical solutions for security improvements.
- Manage and monitor administration of security.
- Ensure the effective authorisation and monitoring of access to IT facilities, networks or infrastructure is in accordance with policy.
- Includes the investigation of unauthorised access, compliance with data protection and performance of other administrative duties relating to security management.
- To design, implement and manage processes to ensure that IT capacity (e.g. processing power, storage, network capacity, data centre capacity) match the evolving demands of the business in a cost effective and timely manner.
- The ongoing management of the capability and functionality of hardware, software and network components to meet current and predicted needs in a cost-effective manner.
- To design, document, implement and manage processes and IT architecture to ensure that in the event of a disaster the IT technical and service facilities that the business requires can be recovered within agreed time scales and at a level of cost that the business is willing to support.
- Ensure the Technical Analysts are familiar with the processes to work through DR playbooks and able to recover key systems from back-ups.
- To support the IT Management in the development and implementation of the business plan for the IT department.
- Continually seek out ways in which the costs of IT service provision can be reduced, and the quality improved.
- To be responsible for delivering projects using standards and procedures that ensure that IT systems will operate properly.
- Provide alternatives to overcome issues within project and adapt tasks to ensure completion.
- Ensure that changes are delivered within defined change management processes.
- Management of suppliers as appropriate and whenever necessary.
- To be responsible for leading, coaching and developing the Technical Analysts, enabling effective delivery of BAU activity as well as research, innovation and implementation of new technology.
