Are you already a Reliability or Maintenance Engineer with previous experience of working within a manufacturing environment? We are looking to appoint 2 day-based Reliability Engineers to join our growing team. You’ll have the opportunity to work with our senior engineering management team on projects to improve reliability, and the identification of issues through root cause analysis and condition-based monitoring. You’ll be responsible for planned and preventative maintenance tasks to help prevent issues before they occur.

The Recipe: Our Engineers work in shift teams in close conjunction with production, safety and hygiene. The team undertake planned and preventative maintenance and are encouraged to use their engineering skills and experience to develop robust solutions and long-term fixes. There’s a huge variety of tasks that will range from general plant maintenance to improving plant reliability and diagnosing problems before they develop. The environment is a highly automated 24/7 food manufacturing plant. As part of your role, you’ll be identifying and completing continuous improvement projects to increase plant efficiency, reduce downtime and save energy and associated costs. We’ll help to develop your technical skills by providing additional training and support.

The Role: You’ll ensure daily preventative maintenance activities are completed to a high standard, breakdowns are resolved quickly and efficiently to maximise plant reliability, performance, product quality and safety. Drive improvements in asset reliability and reduce losses. Effective use of SAP PM. Development of maintenance approach for bakery equipment. Ensure plant and personnel (including external contractors) conform to Health and Safety legislation, policy and standards identifying any required actions so that the area of responsibility is healthy, safe and accident free. Compliance with quality and food safety legislation.

Essential Ingredients:

  • Electrical and Mechanical engineering experience
  • Fault Finding and Root Cause Analysis skills
  • Structured and practical engineering training (e.g. apprenticeship/HNC/degree)
  • Knowledge and experience of maintenance preferably in an FMCG environment
  • H&S knowledge e.g., PUWER, IOSH able to ensure a safe working environment
  • Communication and relationship building skills
  • Analysing and problem-solving skills, anticipates problems before they occur and takes steps to deal with them
