The Recipe
As an Engineering Team Leader at our Enfield bakery, youll support the delivery of planned and preventative maintenance. This role is a lead position, but youll be prepared to be hands on and roll your sleeves up. Good leadership skills coupled with technical engineering knowledge is essential for the role.

The Role
Youll manage, develop and engage a small team of 3 Multi Skilled Engineers to drive the effectiveness of the engineering team in reducing downtime and increasing productivity. Youll ensure daily preventative maintenance activities are completed to a high standard, breakdowns are resolved quickly and efficiently to maximise plant reliability, performance, product quality and safety.
You will take the lead on more complex maintenance tasks, ensure required parts are available and be responsible for a detailed handover to the next shift team. As part of your role, youll also lead the short interval control meetings with our production team.
Essential Ingredients
- Electrical and Mechanical engineering experience
- Fault Finding and Route Cause Analysis skills
- Structured and practical engineering training (e.g. apprenticeship/HNC/degree).
- Knowledge and experience of maintenance preferably in an FMCG environment.
- H&S knowledge e.g., PUWER, IOSH able to ensure a safe working environment.
- Communication and relationship building skills
- Coaching and mentoring skills, takes responsibility for the training and coaching of others.
- Analysing and problem-solving skills, anticipates problems before they occur and takes steps to deal with them/correctly and swiftly
- Makes timely decisions/takes account of the wider risks and implications.
