The Recipe

We’re looking for an experienced, confident, and people-focused HR Officer (internally known as People Advisor) to join our Enfield bakery, an operational environment where no two days look the same. You’ll be joining an established onsite HR team, including HR Operations, L&D, and People Services, so although the role is hands-on and autonomous, you’ll never be without support.

Around 75% of your role will focus on Employee Relations case management, supporting a predominantly manual workforce across a wide range of day-to-day challenges. The remaining part of the role offers the chance to get involved in culture, wellbeing, engagement, and network-wide initiatives, especially in this exciting milestone year as Warburtons celebrates 150 years, and Enfield celebrates 25 years.

This is an opportunity to influence, support, coach, and challenge managers at every level, while developing your own career through meaningful exposure to HR generalist roles.

The Role

  • ER Case Management Manage a varied portfolio of ER cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance and attendance. Lead and support managers through absence management processes. Provide coaching and guidance to first-line and middle managers, adapting support based on capability and experience. Complete minute-taking, documentation reviews and quality checks. Maintain consistent standards and act as a confident, neutral process guardian.
  • Relationship Building & Stakeholder Influence Build strong relationships across a fast-paced, operational site with a diverse workforce. Constructively challenge when standards or timelines slip. Tailor communication style to suit different managers, teams, and situations.
  • Culture, Wellbeing & Engagement Support and deliver wellbeing and engagement activities on site. Contribute to planning and running key events, including: 150-year celebrations, 25th Enfield anniversary. Play an active role in maintaining a positive, inclusive site culture.
  • Project Work & Development Support network-wide HR initiatives aligned to your interests (ED&I, wellbeing, process improvement, etc.). Contribute to building future leadership capability within the site HR team.

Essential Ingredients

  • 3-5 years experience in HR Operations
  • Strong in Employee Relations, confident managing cases independently
  • Experience within a fast-paced operational environment, ideally in manufacturing/transport/logistics
  • Skilled at coaching managers, challenging constructively, and maintaining pace
  • Strong communication and influencing skills

Working Pattern

Monday - Friday on site (as required operationally). Genuine flexibility with start and finish times. Work-life balance respected, with time back taken where appropriate.
