Overview
As Asset Care Lead in our Bellshill bakery, you will steer a team of four day-based engineers, acting as the on-site escalation point with support from Reliability Managers. You’ll balance hands-on mechanical and electrical planned and reactive maintenance to sustain reliability and safety. You’ll collaborate with Site and Group Engineering leaders to execute the Asset Care Strategy and optimise shutdown planning using SAP. This role offers impact through continuous improvement, safety, and cross-functional influence.

Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a days-based engineering team, including training plans and performance reviews
- Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance across equipment from ingredient handling to packaging
- Ensure safe working practices and compliance with food safety legislation and company standards
- Coordinate with PPM Co-ordinator for shutdowns, parts availability, and timely task allocation
- Manage contractor activity and ensure quality of work and proper handovers between shifts
- Utilise SAP for maintenance management and data-driven decision making
Key requirements
- Electrical and mechanical maintenance experience
- People management experience
- FMCG/manufacturing environment knowledge
- H&S/Food safety knowledge (IOSH or equivalent)
- Structured engineering training (apprenticeship/HNC/degree or equivalent)
- IT proficiency with Microsoft Office; SAP experience preferred
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills
- Coaching and mentoring abilities
- Analytical and problem-solving capability

- Eng Tech Standard Accredited (desirable)
