Duties of This Role
- Design, build, and deliver scalable, secure backend services and applications.
- Architect end‑to‑end backend solutions using modern cloud‑native and microservices‑based approaches.
- Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code with a strong focus on quality, performance, and reliability.
- Champion engineering best practices through code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
- Define and promote effective testing strategies across unit, integration, and service‑level testing.
- Build resilient, scalable, and production‑ready systems.
- Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.
- Communicate technical decisions and articulate trade‑offs to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Support the growth of junior engineers through coaching, feedback, and pair programming.
- Balance delivery pace with technical quality, enabling teams to make informed engineering decisions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices by sharing ideas, lessons learned, and emerging technologies.

What You'll Bring
- Strong commercial experience developing backend applications in Azure.
- Experience with Azure API Management (APIM) or similar API gateway technologies.
- A broad, T‑shaped backend skillset with experience across multiple programming languages.
- Hands‑on DevOps experience, including CI/CD, deployment and cloud infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of modern backend architectures, including microservices, and event‑driven systems.
- Understanding of secure development practices and standards such as OWASP, GDPR and SOC 2.
- A pragmatic, forward‑thinking approach with a strong interest and enthusiasm for applying AI across the SDLC to enhance engineering practices and advise clients on effective adoption.
- A passion for clean code, engineering best practices, and continuous improvement.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Experience mentoring and supporting the development of other engineers.
