Grasp the opportunity to join Wansbeck Primary School. We are a vibrant, dynamic learning community that thrives on a challenge and is determined to make a difference, with children at the heart of everything we do.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and compassionate Achievement Support Assistant to provide dedicated one-to-one support for a child with significant communication and interaction needs. Working closely with the class teacher and wider team, you will help the child communicate their needs, build positive relationships and access learning in a supportive and inclusive environment.
The successful candidate will be patient, calm and adaptable, taking time to understand the child’s individual strengths, interests and needs. You will support their participation in classroom activities, develop their confidence and independence, and use agreed strategies to promote communication, interaction and emotional wellbeing. Experience of supporting children with communication and interaction needs, including using visual supports or alternative communication approaches, would be valuable.
You will need to work effectively as part of a team, while also working independently and using your initiative within agreed support plans. In return, you will join a dedicated and hardworking team offering excellent support and opportunities for professional development.
