Overview: The WANO of 2025 to 2030 and beyond is a highly collaborative partner with its members, focused on helping the growing nuclear fleet attain and sustain excellent performance. Position: The WANO London Office is pleased to offer a senior leadership opportunity to join our Peer Review function as Peer Review Manager. This role is ideal for an experienced nuclear professional with strong leadership capability and deep peer review expertise, who is motivated to drive performance-based peer reviews and support continuous improvement across WANO’s global membership. As Peer Review Manager, you will support the Peer Review Director in the governance, oversight, and delivery of WANO’s peer review and assessment activities. You will play a key leadership role in implementing WANO’s transition to a performance-based peer review approach, while ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality services to members worldwide.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the effective delivery of peer review products and services, including Plant, Corporate, Follow-up, and Pre-Startup Peer Reviews.
- Lead implementation of performance-based peer reviews, supporting the Action for Excellence transition plan.
- Coordinate peer review activities across Regional Centres, ensuring alignment, collaboration, and consistent application of standards.
- Develop integrated action plans and annual reporting, monitoring progress, budgets, and schedules.
- Lead and develop London Office peer review staff, including mentoring, performance management, and engagement.
- Provide oversight of the WANO Assessment process, ensuring it is delivered consistently and to a high standard.
- Periodically observe peer review missions, identifying safety-significant gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain peer review guidance and reference documentation, ensuring materials remain fit for purpose and accessible to members.
- Support London Office leadership during the Director’s absence, including engagement with the CEO and other Directors.
- Travel internationally as required to support peer reviews, assessments, and leadership engagement.
Qualifications: We are seeking a confident, credible leader with strong technical expertise, excellent judgement, and a commitment to WANO’s mission and values. Please note a completed secondment agreement form must accompany your application. This role is primarily based at the WANO London Office, with international travel required.
