We are looking for a Data Governance Lead to join us here at Wandle to help us build strong foundations for our Data Governance. The Data Governance Lead is a new role, responsible for designing, implementing and supporting the data governance framework at Wandle. The primary focus is to ensure data quality, integrity and compliance to enable data‑driven decision making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and embed the data governance framework.
  • Design, implement and maintain data governance policies, standards, and documentation.
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements (e.g. UK GDPR) and organisational priorities.
  • Drive adoption of governance practices across the organisation.
  • Improve and assure data quality and control.
  • Define and enforce data quality standards and metrics (accuracy, completeness, timeliness).
  • Establish monitoring, reporting, and resolution processes for data issues.
  • Maintain core artefacts such as data dictionary, classifications, and documentation.
  • Facilitate stakeholder ownership and data culture.
  • Coordinate data owners/stewards and business teams to embed accountability.
  • Deliver training and guidance to improve data literacy and good practice.
  • Monitor, audit and report on governance effectiveness to support decision‑making.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience of implementing or operating data governance.
  • Strong knowledge of data protection and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working cross‑functionally and influencing stakeholders.
  • Ability to improve data quality through structured approaches.
  • Strong communication skills with non‑technical audiences.
  • Relevant qualification or equivalent in data/information management.
