We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to facilitate our walks to promote emotional understanding and wellbeing through nature experiences whilst strengthening family bonds.

Our walks make mental health support accessible, stigma‑free and embedded within joyful shared outdoor experiences. By volunteering as a Wellbeing Walk Facilitator, you will play a vital role to promote emotional literacy, self‑confidence, and stronger family connections. What Are We Looking For?

This role involves facilitating family‑oriented activities focused on promoting wellbeing. The ideal volunteer will demonstrate a strong background in nurturing positive mental health outcomes within family environments. Successful candidates will possess a minimum of three years of experience working in Education, social services, therapy, or related disciplines. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on family mental health within our community.

Requirements

  • Position is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
  • Candidates must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

What Will You Be Doing?

Wellbeing Walk Facilitators will help to lead groups of families on guided nature walks through local green spaces. Primary duties will include:

  • Facilitating wellbeing activities
  • Encouraging family interaction, sharing, and bonding moments
  • Providing a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for emotional expression
  • Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and managing group dynamics

Wellbeing Walk Facilitators will work closely with the Programme Coordinator, who will attend initial walks with volunteers, provide training, resources, and ongoing support. You will also collaborate with other volunteers to ensure a seamless and impactful experience for families. We welcome volunteers to bring their unique skills, perspectives, and ideas to enhance the wellbeing walk experience. Although we have planned activities, new ideas and the incorporation of additional activities, exercises, or approaches are encouraged!

This is an in‑person role which is currently available in both Brighton & Hove.
