We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Walton Lodge Vets on a full‑time basis. At Walton Lodge, Ware, you’ll be working in a well‑equipped, modern practice with access to a wide range of diagnostic and treatment tools, including digital X‑ray, colour Doppler ultrasound, digital endoscopy, advanced dental equipment, ECG, and full anaesthetic monitoring systems. You’ll also be part of a collaborative clinical network supported by certificate‑holding clinicians based at our Ware Hospital, allowing you to get involved in complex and rewarding cases that support your ongoing development and confidence. You will be joining our dedicated and supportive nursing team, including 2 Student Veterinary Nurses and 1 Registered Veterinary Nurse, with a strong orthopaedic caseload, alongside access to virtual veterinary specialists who support advanced cardiology workups and ultrasound imaging. The practice also provides dedicated inpatient care, ensuring continuity and high standards of treatment.

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first‑opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

General responsibilities:

  • Supporting vets as required across a varied clinical caseload
  • Involvement in inpatient care and responsibility within the hospital
  • Setting up for the day, assisting in consults and procedures
  • Supporting SVNs with clinical learning and development
  • Assisting with and taking on responsibility for ultrasound and X‑ray
  • Monitoring anaesthetics and assisting in surgery
  • Providing high‑quality care for inpatients
  • Running nurse consultations and supporting clients directly
  • Working as part of a team that genuinely values your contribution
