Waltham Forest College are seeking to recruit exceptional Learning Support Assistants for its mainstream provision to provide practical support to young people, age 16-18 or 19-24 with EHCP and adults with learning difficulties, behaviour barriers to learning and/or physical disabilities to facilitate their independence, access to learning and integration into the life of the College.
Responsibilities
- Provide practical support to young people aged 16-18 or 19-24 with EHCP and adults with learning difficulties, behaviour barriers to learning and/or physical disabilities to facilitate their independence, access to learning and integration into the life of the College.
- Demonstrate good communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Show empathy and interest in helping students fulfil their potential.
- Build and maintain good working relationships with learners, teachers and other external agencies.
- Maintain a good understanding of safeguarding and its importance.
Qualifications
- Minimum Level 2 (GCSE Grade D/4 or above) in English and Maths.
- Ideally up‑to‑date on the SEN Code of Practice and other useful legislation.
