Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Learning Support team to ensure high quality additional learning support and inclusive learning leading to wide participation and excellent achievement.
  • Manage and report on Additional Learning Support funding and the portion of the Adult Educational Budget funding that pertains to additional learning support, ensuring that the College meets all related targets successfully.
  • Act as the main point of contact for the College with external agencies regarding aspects of the provision, including negotiating with boroughs regarding EHCP learners.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Hold a degree or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Be skilled and experienced in managing funding, budgets and meeting financial targets.
  • Possess significant knowledge of the frameworks, code of practice and processes that pertain to ALS, high needs’ learners and learners with SEND.
  • Have the skills to ensure the College meets the needs of the learners well, and that the support is innovative and responsive to emerging trends and needs.
  • Display good interpersonal skills and have experience of using information systems and databases.
  • Be committed to equality and diversity, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of learners, and maintain a flexible attitude to work.
