The post holder will be expected to ensure that the reception area of the practice runs smoothly, whilst working closely with other staff.
Main duties of the job include providing a high level of service to patients, doctors, nurses and other members of the Practice team.
About us: WF GP FedNet is advertising the role for bank staff admin. You will be able to apply for shifts that start at different times of the day/evening. Shifts are not guaranteed. WF GP FedNet is a not-for-profit Federation of the 36 GP Practices in Waltham Forest. We are a private limited company that provides NHS Services based in Primary Care, pooling the skills and resources of local GPs to provide large-scale services as part of the local NHS Strategy to bring more services into the Community to help people stay well and at home.
Job responsibilities:
- Making appointments
- Taking requests for prescriptions
- Giving out results
- Ambulance transport bookings
- Home visit requests
- Dealing with general enquiries and complaints
- Contacting other providers
Reception Duties:
- Register new patients and temporary residents
- Greet and direct patients and visitors
- All round knowledge and experience in EMIS system
- Handing out prescriptions
- Ensure outstanding queries are explained and handed over to the next shift, as necessary
- Respond to the needs of doctors and nurses during surgery
- Collect payments from patients for non-NHS services
- Dealing with requests for repeat prescriptions
- Raising prescriptions as per Practice Protocols
- Dealing with queries relating to repeat prescriptions
General Duties:
- Input and extract information from the Practice computer system
- Observe health and safety guidelines at all times
- Any other reasonable duties as necessary

Qualifications:
- Good standard of general education
- GCSE Mathematics C or above
- GCSE English C or above
- Knowledge of EMIS is essential. Please do not apply if you do not have EMIS experience.
