Job purpose

To manage and support the full apprenticeship journey for Electrical apprentices from enrolment through to successful and timely completion by acting as a central point of contact for employers, providing high quality teaching, assessment, and guidance, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies, and promoting strong engagement with maths, English, and professional standards. The role also involves strengthening employer relationships, supporting quality assurance, contributing to marketing and recruitment, and ensuring apprentices receive outstanding learning, support, and progression opportunities.

Key requirements

The role requires the effective management of a caseload of apprentices, delivering high-quality teaching, assessment, coaching, and support to ensure timely progress and successful completion of apprenticeship programmes. The postholder will plan, deliver, and review learning in line with awarding body requirements, apprenticeship standards, and organisational quality processes.

The role involves accurate enrolment, induction, and ongoing compliance management, including the maintenance of detailed and up-to-date learner records across e-portfolio and management information systems. The postholder must ensure that evidence of learning, assessment, progress, and off-the-job training is recorded accurately and meets audit and funding requirements.

A key responsibility is the completion of 12-weekly progress reviews, conducted as a tripartite process involving the apprentice, employer, and training provider. These reviews will evaluate progress against the apprenticeship standard, set clear targets, address any barriers to achievement, and ensure continued employer engagement and support.

The postholder will engage effectively with employers, apprentices, awarding bodies, and internal teams to support learner success and programme delivery. They must actively promote and embed safeguarding, health and safety, equality, diversity and inclusion, and fundamental British values within all aspects of teaching, assessment, and learner support.

The role also contributes to continuous quality improvement activities, including self-assessment, standardisation, and audit processes, as well as supporting marketing, recruitment, and employer engagement activities where required. Ongoing professional development is expected to ensure subject, pedagogical, and regulatory knowledge remains current.
