Walters have an exciting opportunity for a Demolition Contracts Manager.

The successful candidate will oversee the smooth running of the Group’s demolition work in South Wales (predominantly) and South-West of England, reporting directly to the Demolition Director.

Walters are a market leading civil engineering and demolition contractor employing over 1,000 people.

We are members of the National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) and specialise in the self-delivery of high-quality demolition projects for a range of public and private sector clients.

We are seeking a hands‑on, ambitious, professional and dynamic individual who wants to join our team and be part of our continued success.

The successful applicant will be highly motivated and practical and have a strong track record of successful delivery within the demolition industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure that a “safety first” attitude underpins all demolition operations
  • Oversee the successful (safe and profitable) delivery of our demolition work
  • Maintain good relations with clients, suppliers and stakeholders
  • Ensure all projects are appropriately planned and resourced to ensure safe and timely delivery
  • Work with our teams and our supply chain specialists to develop demolition sequence designs and associated temporary works designs
  • Ensure that the highest standards of safety and quality at all times
  • Assist with ‘work winning’. Preference will be given to those who are able to price work and assist with tender quality submissions.
  • Quals and Capabilities
  • Member or Associate Member of the Institute of Demolition Engineers (A/MIDE) or working towards (or willing to work towards).
  • CCDO Demolition Contracts Manager or Demolition Manager preferrable.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – communicating and listening
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Use of MS Project preferrable
  • Resilience when working to fixed deadlines and managing risk
  • Based in South Wales or within sustainable daily commutable distance
  • A senior role within our successful, market leading company
