Walters Coaches is seeking an experienced and motivated Transport & Compliance Manager to join our growing team based at Lyehill Quarry, Forest Hill, Oxford. This is a key management role responsible for ensuring the continued compliance, safety, and operational efficiency of our PSV fleet and driving team.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Managing and maintaining PSV operator compliance standards
  • Overseeing vehicle compliance, inspections, maintenance schedules, and defect reporting systems
  • Monitoring and managing driver compliance, including drivers’ hours, tachograph regulations, and licence checks
  • Delivering driver training, inductions, and ongoing development
  • Implementing, reviewing, and updating company policies and procedures
  • Supporting operational improvements and ensuring best practice across the business
  • Liaising with drivers, workshop providers, and management to maintain high safety and compliance standards
  • Assisting with audits, investigations, and regulatory requirements
  • Monitoring route optimisation, driver efficiency and performance

Previous experience within the transport, coach, bus, or logistics industry

  • Strong understanding of transport compliance and operator licensing requirements
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Transport management experience or compliance management background

Desirable Qualifications

  • PSV Transport Manager CPC qualification (or currently working towards it)
  • Category D driving licence advantageous but not essential
