We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our External Reporting team at Disney on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract.
The successful postholder will support the External Reporting team and Disney Controllership & Tax Executives with statutory financial statements preparation, ATOL and ABTA audits, and will work closely with the EMEA Tax team. This role covers responsibilities for the statutory financial statements preparation for three key UK legal entities and requires collaboration with external auditors to coordinate UK GAAP adjustments, audit procedures and statutory filings. The position will be based in our London Hammersmith office, four days a week, with either Monday or Friday working from home.

This role requires coordinating with multiple external partners on key drivers for the financial statements and working with various US GAAP teams on UK GAAP treatment. Business partnering is a key element of this role, often working with Tax, Treasury, Legal and Global Controllership on ad‑hoc projects; supporting the SSC and EMEA Controllership teams with financial and Disney control matters.
- Preparation of statutory accounts for UK legal entities in line with FRS 102 and consultation with auditors throughout the audit cycle to facilitate timely completion and filing of audited financial statements.
- Support the Corporate Tax function by preparing supporting schedules for tax calculations and ad‑hoc tax audit requirements.
- Prepare supporting schedules for ad‑hoc external audit deliverables – supporting SSC and EMEA Controllership.
- Consult with various teams on distribution projects and company reorganisation projects.
- Complete interim financial review and variance analysis for UK legal entities.
- Complete and submit various key balance sheet accounts across UK legal entities.
- Identify and drive areas of improvement within current processes to maintain high service standards efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley and Disney Minimum Control Standards through participation in the annual SOX testing procedure.
- Support management and wider finance team on any ad‑hoc duties and projects.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the EMEA External Reporting Team, reporting to the Head of International External Reporting at Disney’s EMEA headquarters. The role offers extensive learning and regular exposure to Disney senior executives and management teams.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Qualified (ACA / CIMA / ACCA) at Senior Accountant grade or at the Finalist stage of studies.
- Strong experience in data analysis.
- Strong educational background in accounting and relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- SAP experience preferred.
- Company accounting experience preferred.
