Job Summary: Product Design & Development Assistant (Stationery & Greeting Cards, EMEA)

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Product Design & Development Assistant to join our EMEA team, focusing on the Stationery and Greeting Cards categories. This role is based four days a week in our Hammersmith office, with a Monday or a Friday working from home.
Your Role in the Story
As a Product Design & Development Assistant, you will support the creation of trend-right, brand-enhancing products for our licensees and Direct to Retail (DTR) partners. You will play a key role in the product lifecycle - from concept to approval - ensuring every item reflects Disney's high standards for creativity, quality, and compliance.
What You Will Do:
- Manage the product approval process from concept to production using Disney's Online Product Approval (OPA) system.
- Provide creative direction and feedback on 2D and 3D product submissions.
- Train and support licensees on Disney's brand, properties, creative assets, and systems.
- Ensure licensees have access to the right creative tools and materials.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Create product pitches, design visuals, and mock-ups under the guidance of senior team members.
- Stay up to date on Disney's characters, films, and creative assets to inspire product development.
- Support regional and global design projects as needed.
- Ensure all products comply with corporate policies and relevant legislation.
- Monitor design trends, pop culture, and the competitive landscape.
- Attend inspiration trips to explore new ideas and drive innovation.
What You Bring:
- A degree in product design or equivalent experience in a lifestyle product company.
- Proven experience in product development or design, ideally within a licensee, retail head office, or supplier.
- Licensing experience is highly desirable.
- Graphic design skills are essential.
- Strong conceptual and design skills, with the ability to create prototypes or models.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Mac OSX, and MS Office.
- Understanding of fabrics, colour, and product design.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and awareness of EMEA markets.
- Ability to manage deadlines, budgets, and multiple stakeholders.
- A collaborative spirit and a passion for storytelling through design.
