Private Client Paralegal
Key Requirements
- Previous paralegal experience in Private Client law (minimum 12 months preferred)
- Strong understanding of key areas including wills, probate, trusts, and lasting powers of attorney
- Confident in drafting standard legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience liaising with clients, courts, and third parties in a professional and empathetic manner
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills, including file management and deadlines
- Proficiency with case management systems and Microsoft Office
- Experience working with farming, rural, or high-net-worth clients
- Knowledge of estate and tax planning
- Progression toward professional qualifications such as CILEX or STEP
- Client-focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively
- A collaborative team player with a proactive and professional approach
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- High levels of discretion and integrity when handling sensitive client matters
Role & Responsibilities
- Assisting with the drafting of wills, trusts, and lasting powers of attorney
- Preparing probate applications and assisting with estate administration
- Conducting legal research and preparing supporting documentation
- Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, HMRC, and the Probate Registry
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation
- Managing your own caseload of straightforward matters under supervision
- Supporting solicitors with more complex cases and attending client meetings where required
- Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and professional obligations
