About the Opportunity
Join a leading aerospace manufacturing business producing high-precision aircraft control components, including servo valves used within complex hydraulic control systems. This is a senior Product Engineering role focused on supporting production, assembly and test operations in a low-volume, high-precision manufacturing environment. The role is not design-led. It is focused on resolving product, test and manufacturing issues, identifying root cause and driving preventative action.
Key Requirements
- 10+ years’ relevant engineering experience
- Strong first-principles engineering knowledge
- Deep mechanical and hydraulics knowledge
- Experience with pressure, performance, product or test failure investigations
- Strong root cause analysis and preventative action capability
- Experience supporting assembly, test or production operations
- Aerospace, defence, hydraulics or precision manufacturing background preferred
- Knowledge of PFMEA, control plans, process flow diagrams and MSA
- Confident communicator able to provide technical direction
- Collaborative, hands-on and comfortable owning complex technical issues
- Eligibility for UK security clearance may be required
Role & Responsibilities
- Acting as a technical focal point for production, assembly and test issues
- Investigating product, process and hydraulic performance failures
- Applying structured root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
- Supporting non-conformance, PRB and MRB activity
- Developing assembly and test standards, procedures and documentation
- Analysing production data to improve quality, yield, cost and efficiency
- Working closely with production, quality, test, supply chain and engineering teams
