Applications are invited to join the MLTC team as a Band 5 Care Group Support Officer within Emergency and Acute Care. This opportunity will present a variety of roles within service management, such as demand and capacity, communication networking, managing patient pathways, procedural management, and staff management. As part of the Care Group management team you will need to work flexibly to meet the demands of the service and be able to work effectively with all clinical and non-clinical personnel.

Previous experience in managing a service is essential in addition to a calm and confident aptitude in a sometimes demanding and challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • To support the Care Group Management by inputting and extracting data from a number of sources in the development of dashboards, reports and updates
  • Liaise with clinicians to ensure continuity of service and implementation of agreed local, trust wide and national protocols and procedures.
  • Support the Care Group Management team in the development of service reviews and subsequent service redesign.
  • To manage the Administration Team within Emergency and Acute Care

The role of this position is to support the Care Group Management team in the delivery and management of all patients within the Emergency and Urgent Care Pathway; ensuring adherence to local and national targets. In addition, you will be required to ensure that processes within the care group pathways and quality indicators are being met. This will involve working with various levels of personnel in order to ensure that deadlines are met.

The Support Officer will support the Care Group Management team with the overall supervision of the Administrative Team within Emergency and Acute Care.

General Responsibilities – Managerial

  • To supervise and lead a group of staff within the Administration Team incorporating all staff issues:
  • Sickness Management
  • Recruitment and Selection
  • Induction Training
  • Mandatory training and development in accordance with organisation policies
  • Training of staff in the work place
  • KSF Process and facilitation of continued professional development
  • Attendance records/signing time sheets
  • Managing of annual leave and time in lieu
  • Overtime management
  • Competency issues
  • Disciplinary issues – initiate appropriate action
  • Investigate and action complaints
  • Ensure a continuous level of staffing is available in the relevant areas
