As a Therapeutic FT & Intervention Officer, you will be an integral part of our dedicated team, working closely with children and their families. Your role will involve delivering Family Time sessions, offering high-quality support and building strong relationships. - Deliver Family Time sessions for children and their families, providing a safe and supportive environment.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with children, young people, and their families, fostering trust and open communication.
- Work collaboratively with social work colleagues, ensuring a holistic approach to safeguarding and support.
- Implement therapeutic interventions and strategies to improve outcomes for children and young people.
- Document and maintain accurate records of Family Time sessions and interventions, ensuring confidentiality and data protection.
- Attend team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices.
- Provide feedback and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Family Time Service and its processes.
- Adhere to the organization's policies and procedures, maintaining a high standard of professional conduct.
- Promote and uphold the values and mission of Walsall Council, demonstrating a commitment to social justice and equality.
Qualifications:
- A relevant qualification in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with children, young people, and families, preferably in a therapeutic or social work setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust.
- Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach when working with diverse families and their unique circumstances.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and adapt.
- Knowledge of child development and an understanding of the impact of trauma on children's well-being.
