Grade: G8; Salary Range £39,152 - £41,771

Walsall Council is looking for a passionate and proactive Temporary Accommodation Compliance Officer to help ensure our Temporary Accommodation properties and services remain safe, secure and fully compliant for residents. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in supporting some of our most vulnerable residents while helping to maintain high standards across our accommodation provision.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive building risk assessments and develop action plans to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Monitor and enforce fire safety standards, including regular inspections and drills.
  • Manage building maintenance and repairs, ensuring they meet health and safety standards.

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures for all Temporary Accommodation units.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to all health and safety activities within Temporary Accommodation.
  • Stay updated with changes in health and safety regulations / legislation and ensure the council’s buildings are compliant.

  • Demonstrated experience in temporary accommodation / social housing settings, welfare services, or a related sector.
