Main Purpose: As Senior Housing & Welfare Officer, you will be a dynamic force for progress, motivating your team, supporting residents at risk of homelessness, and ensuring robust compliance with Parts 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 1996. You will monitor and enhance service delivery, drive continuous improvement, and embed legislative expertise into everything we do.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion Effective Homelessness Support: Lead initiatives to prevent and resolve homelessness, drawing on in-depth knowledge of the Housing Act 1996, Parts 6 and 7, and the challenges faced by vulnerable residents.
  • Empower the Team: Inspire, guide, and provide expert advice to colleagues, enabling them to deliver exceptional support to residents navigating housing insecurity.
  • Drive Service Excellence: Harness data and customer insights to identify inefficiencies, measure performance, and implement targeted improvements across our homelessness and housing services.
  • Advance Staff Development: Proactively identify training needs and nurture team growth, creating a culture of learning and adaptability.
  • Lead Complex Casework: Oversee detailed case reviews, prepare comprehensive reports, and participate in multi-agency meetings, ensuring robust responses for the most challenging cases in accordance with statutory guidance.

About You:

  • Expert: You possess a thorough understanding of Parts 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 1996, alongside advanced knowledge of homelessness issues, legislative frameworks, and best practices.
