Salary: £50,484 - £53,090 (plus £1,000 ECU) per annum plus excellent benefits. Contract: Full Time, Permanent, 37 hours per week. Closing Date: 21st May 2026. Interview Date: 1st and 2nd June 2026.

With an ambitious development programme, we are looking for an experienced Quality Control Manager to join our Construction and Quality team to help deliver our 2030 transformational programme, delivering a minimum of over 400 quality build homes per annum. You will work within a committed team dedicated to delivering quality new build homes and play a key role in delivering our zero‑defects approach ensuring that all projects across WHG’s development programme are designed and completed to the highest quality standard and in accordance with WHG’s design brief, contractual obligations, industry standards and Homes England guidelines.

Main Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee on‑site inspections, snagging, and post‑completion defects management across multiple projects.
  • Carry out pre‑contract drawing checks, reviewing drawings through all build stages.
  • Support Project Managers to ensure compliance with WHG’s brief, contractual obligations and Homes England requirements.
  • Attend site meetings as WHG’s representative, reporting accurately on progress and quality.
  • Liaise with contractors, consultants and internal teams to resolve construction and quality issues.
  • Cross‑team working to ensure a smooth build and handover process to internal key stakeholders.
  • Promote good practice through site toolbox talks and quality bulletin reports.
  • Monitor programmes to ensure projects remain on track and meet deadlines.
  • Review building control, warranty provider and inspector reports, ensuring all actions are closed out.
  • Lead on pre‑handover inspections, snagging lists and defect resolution during the liability period.
  • Collate and upload all asset data to WHG systems.

We’re Looking For Someone Who Has

  • Minimum qualification level of HNC in construction and the built environment or equivalent.
  • Extensive, relevant experience of technical and quality management during the construction phase of new build housing, over‑55s housing and change of use schemes.
  • Good knowledge of current building regulations, NHBC/LABC/Premier guarantee standards and certification required for a successful handover.
  • The ability to identify technical problems on site and to recommend solutions and corrective action.
  • Understanding of building contracts.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings/specifications and ensure they are followed.
  • Experience of working in social housing or a development environment.
  • Experience of managing customer expectations.
  • Good written, verbal and IT skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to deal with challenging situations calmly and assertively.
  • Positive attitude towards change and improving services.
  • Access to a car and a full driving licence with business insurance.
  • A growth mindset looking at ways to improve and promote new technologies and changes.
