As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in our team, delivering an effective and efficient social care service.

Your expertise will enable individuals to achieve independence and improve their overall well-being.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with various professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments, identifying strengths and areas of need for clients.
• Develop and implement individualised treatment plans, promoting independence and functional abilities.
• Provide therapy interventions, including adaptive equipment prescription and environmental modifications.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, social workers, and caregivers to ensure a coordinated approach.
• Document and maintain accurate records of client progress and outcomes, ensuring confidentiality.
• Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the development of best practices within the department.
• Stay updated with relevant legislation, national, and local guidance, ensuring compliance in practice.
• Undertake safeguarding duties to protect vulnerable adults and children from abuse or neglect.
• Engage in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar occupational therapy role, preferably within a social care setting.
• Strong assessment and treatment planning skills, with a strengths-based approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in using relevant software and technology for documentation and record-keeping.
• Valid driving license and access to a vehicle for travel to client locations (if required).
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with industry trends.
• A flexible and adaptable approach to working with diverse client populations.
