Walsall Educational Psychology Service (EPS) is seeking to recruit Educational Psychologists to join our values-driven service. Walsall EPS holds at its core, the following values:

In response to national SEND Reforms, we are seeking to appoint an EP who will support the delivery of our new Experts at Hand offer through:
- Providing EP services to schools and leading multiagency support for settings focusing on systemic and organisational change and whole school strategic support for inclusion.
- Contributing to our offer at the Targeted and Specialist tiers, through the creative application of psychology.
- Working alongside EPS team members to support the delivery of our central training offer to schools (e.g. ELSA, EBSA, SCERTS).
- Delivering supervision to ELSAs across Walsall schools.
- Develop and deliver an early intervention project aligned to your area of interest and current local authority SEND priorities.
- Contribute Psychological Advice to EHC Needs Assessments.
Walsall EPS is committed to offering a balance of work and operates an allocation model which caps statutory work to enable our EPs to support early intervention and preventative work. The greatest proportion of time will be spent delivering a wide range of psychological support to schools through our Experts at Hand offer.
Walsall Educational Psychology Service is a creative and dynamic service looking to recruit Educational Psychologists to expand our growing team, and support us to embed our new Experts at Hand Offer across the borough. We have a strong team identity driven by our shared service vision and values. Our team currently consists of Assistants, Trainees, Maingrades, Specialist Seniors, and Senior EPs led by our Principal EP. We are a consultation-led service and have recently invested in refreshing our delivery model of consultation and are looking forward to further development and CPD in this area.
Walsall EPS has grown strong multiagency partnerships with other local authority teams such as Youth Justice Service, Virtual School, Violence Reduction Partnership, Attendance Team, and colleagues in Health and Social Care, allowing the development of innovative EP practice in a variety of diverse contexts.
We offer a range of central training to settings including ELSA, EBSA, and SCERTS to support inclusive practice in schools. As a service, we are committed to supporting early intervention, and we are currently developing projects around supporting transitions of vulnerable children, the reintegration of children following exclusion, and whole-school inclusion.
